Seasearch Observer Course – 13th June 2009

tompotblenny1Kate Cole of Sussex Seasearch has kindly agreed to run a Seasearch Observer course for Brighton Marina Divers on 13th June at Brighton Marina Yacht Club. This is a one day course starting at 10am and finishing around 5pm aimed at giving divers new to the Seasearch project and new to marine recording a basic grounding. At the end of the course we will be able to complete the Seasearch Observation Form and get our own Adopt a Site project up and running

Sea Search Operations Begin

On the 19th April “Sea Search” surveying began on Mariner Reef. Unfortunately, the team left vital scientific instruments on the boat and didn’t realise until they had reached the bottom! Undeterred, photos were taken of a diver, the shot line and a some whelk shells. Back on board the “searchers” tucked into an acceptable lunch of Big Soup, cheese twists and mini flap-jacks. The dive was therefore hailed as a resounding success despite the lack of any proper “Sea Searching”. Further expeditions will follow.
